Almond Butter toast w/Berries and Chocolate is one of the best ideas! Because making a breakfast meal into an adult appetizer with Wine! Oh MY! I created this recipe one day when I was asked to be on our Wine and Dine show. The category was kid’s snacks made for adults and the first thing I thought of was Almond Butter toast, which I Love for breakfast. If you love it then let’s find a way to make it go with WINE, right? The Show is going to be so much FUN!

Which wine will I choose to pair my Almond Butter toast w/Berries and Chocolate? Come watch the show and find out!
Almond Butter toast w/Berries and Chocolate
- Bread of your choice (2 to 4 slices)
- Raspberries (1 carton)
- Strawberries (1 carton)
- Chocolate ( Dark and flavored if you like)
- Fresh ground Almond Butter (Fresh Market & Whole Foods have it)
- Wine ( 1 bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel, Syrah, and or a Merlot)
- Prep time is 15 minutes – Can be refrigerated if you like but I like to serve immediately)
Here we go on Prep!
Wash your berries and let them sit while you are working on other things so they have a chance to dry.
Now grate your chocolate, I used my cheese (fine) grader and it worked great! Once grated put the chocolate into a little bowl(s) for later. Make sure you keep your chocolates separated, do not mix them!
How toasted do we Toast?
Toast your 2 to 4 slices of bread depending on how many you have at your party. I would toast the bread to the darker side so it’s really crispy. I use Keto bread which is a 5 nut bread, you choose your own bread.
Ready for Assembly!
Spread your almond butter on your toast all the way to the edges. You want edge-to-edge coverage! Then cut your toast into 4 to 9 squares (the above picture is cut to 9 squares per slice).
Once your toast is covered you want to put 1 raspberry to half of the toast bits, then cut your strawberries in half and put them on the 2nd half of the toast bits.
Now you are ready to sprinkle the chocolate on your bits. I did the Dark Chocolate 100% on the strawberry bits and I used a Raspberry flavored Dark Chocolate for the Raspberry bits. You can do whatever you want on the chocolate, just sprinkle it on your bits, it’s fabulous!
Final Thoughts
- When using any dark chocolate especially 85% to 100% non-sweet you will want a full-body RED Wine to pair with it so pick your favorite!
- It’s always good to wash your berries and let them dry a little before using.
- Almond Butter toast w/Berries and Chocolate is my own creation and I hope you love it as much as I do!
I am Italian and love full-body reds! Watch the show to see what I pair these bits with!
I hope you got to see the show but if not I chose The More Than Muse Cabernet Sauvignon 2017! This wine did so much for the berries and the chocolate I sprinkled on the bits. I hope you enjoy them!
